Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making Hispir Care's website welcoming and usable for everyone.
Last reviewed: [Month DD, YYYY]
Hispir Care (operated by Hispir Consulting Ltd.) is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities and the families we serve. Many of the people who visit this site are caring for children with disabilities, so an easy, accessible experience matters to us. This statement explains the standard we aim for, the steps we have taken, the limitations we are still working on, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.
1. Our commitment
Hispir Care is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually working to improve the experience for everyone who visits our site and to apply the relevant accessibility standards. We believe everyone — including the children and families we support — deserves an online experience that is welcoming and easy to use.
2. The standard we aim for
This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. The site is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA, which means most of the site meets the standard but some content may not yet fully conform. Where that is the case, we describe it under "Known limitations" below and work to fix it.
3. Measures we take
We build accessibility into the site itself rather than relying on add-on tools. Specifically, we:
- Use semantic, properly ordered headings so the page structure is clear to screen readers and keyboard users.
- Provide descriptive alternative (alt) text for images that carry meaning, and correctly hide purely decorative images from assistive technology so they do not add clutter.
- Maintain a visible keyboard focus indicator so people navigating without a mouse can always see where they are on the page.
- Automatically respect your device's "reduce motion" setting — if you have asked your device or browser to reduce animation, this site honours it.
- Review accessibility on an ongoing basis as we add and update content.
We have made a deliberate choice not to use a third-party "accessibility overlay" widget (the kind that adds a floating accessibility button). These tools often interfere with the assistive technology people already use and rely on. Instead, we aim to make the underlying website accessible by design.
4. Browser and assistive-technology compatibility
This website is designed to work with current versions of major web browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari, on both desktop and mobile devices. It is built using standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) intended to be compatible with modern assistive technologies such as screen readers and screen magnifiers, and with operating-system accessibility settings. [Optional, only if you have actually tested it: We have tested the site with the following assistive technologies: e.g. VoiceOver on Safari, NVDA on Firefox.] The site may not work as well in older or unsupported browsers.
5. Known limitations
We want to be open about where the site falls short. Known limitations currently include:
- [Describe each known issue in plain language, e.g. "Some downloadable PDF documents are not yet fully tagged for screen readers."] As an alternative, [what the visitor can do], and we expect to address this by [rough timeframe].
- [Add further items as needed — e.g. embedded maps, third-party widgets, older images.]
[If you are genuinely not aware of any current limitations, replace the bullets above with: "We are not aware of any significant accessibility limitations on the site at this time. If you encounter one, please tell us using the contact details below and we will address it."]
6. Feedback and requesting help
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website, and we are happy to help if you need information from us in a different format. If you run into an accessibility barrier, or if you would like content provided in an alternative way (for example, large print, a plain document, or read aloud over the phone), please contact us:
